What We Believe

At San Gabriel Presbyterian Church, our mission is to be a community that lives out the Great Commandment (Matt. 22:36-40) and the Great Commission (Matt 28:19-20).

 The Great Commandment
"Teacher, which is the greatest commandment of the Law?" Jesus replied: "'Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind.' This is the first and greatest commandment. And the second is like it: 'Love your neighbor as yourself.' All the Law and the Prophets hang on these two commandments."

The Great Commission
"Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I will be with you always, to the very end of the age."

We do this by seeking to fulfill 5 key purposes:

·         Worship – loving God and being in relationship with Him.

Fellowship – loving and caring for one another

Discipleship – becoming like Jesus in thought, character, and action.

Ministry – serving God and one another with our gifts and talents.

Mission – sharing the Gospel, both at home and abroad.

·         The Mission of SGPC

San Gabriel Presbyterian Church is committed to bringing people to Christ, connecting them with God’s family, growing them in their faith, and to encourage them to love God and love others with all of their lives.
